The Hari Raya Aidilfitri holidays was a welcome break for everyone from the overdose of politicking in Malaysia. I had the pleasure of indulging myself in the curry, kurma, rendang, satay and all the delicious food served by all the open houses during these two days.
On the first day, I joined Sabah Progressive Party President Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee and the party leaders on their visit to some of the open houses held by dignatories and commoners alike. Our entourage were warmly greeted wherever we went.
Off course, the most ‘newsworthy’ moment was when we went to the open house of the Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Hj Aman and his muslim cabinet minister. This is the first time that SAPP show up at a government function since their withdrawal from Barisan Nasional. It is ironic that while we were all walking in and even leaving the venue, numerous strangers and friends alike walked up to us and said they supported SAPP’s struggle for the people.
I wonder whether they would be daring enough to show their support in public. Overall, it was a FULLFILLING day for me………
